About

Erica Fishman Smith, ASIDpresident and head designer of Erica Gail Inc., has worked for over a decade in residential interior design.  She delivers her design and project management expertise to every new project, large or small.

Drawing on the inspiration of rich colors, fabrics, and luxurious materials of all sorts, Erica brings her natural eye for proportion and style to every project to create a sophisticated, layered effect.

Background:

Erica is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) with NCIDQ certification.

Erica began her interior design career with a move to Manhattan after completing a BA and BSE from University of Pennsylvania/The Wharton School of Business.  While earning her AAS in Interior Design from New York School of Interior Design, Erica assisted designers at Elizabeth & Co. and Matthew Patrick Smyth, both respected upscale residential design firms.

With her studies complete, Erica spent several years with Robert Couturier, who has been named one of the AD100 (Architectural Digest's top 100 designers), and quickly reached the level of senior designer.  Her projects with Couturier included a Palm Beach residence, a Connecticut residence, and several Manhattan townhouses and large apartments.

Upon moving to Chicago, Erica worked for Alessandra Branca, who has been named one of House Beautiful's top 100 designers.  As a project director at Branca, Erica oversaw the decoration of several homes in Los Angeles and the Chicago area.
